Playground | Original Oil Painting on Canvas

$780.00
sold out

24 x 36

Imagination and intuition should both be followed.

Oil paintings are created with an underpainting and finished with an Alla Prima technique. Oil paintings are created with artist grade paints, canvas, solvents and oils. All edges are also hand-painted with a continuation of the artistic subject, rather than masked edges, resulting in a beautiful raised look that will look professional both framed or unframed.Dry times for oil paintings last 1 year or more and have been completed.

Watercolor paintings are created on artist grade watercolor paper, mounted on a boxed wood panel with archival glue. I use archival, professional grade watercolors in high-yield-pigment. Watercolor paintings that are not wood-box mounted are unframed due to the abundance of framing styles and options for paper-based watercolor art.

This item is only available for studio pick-up. Click here for details.

Do we need to accept anything in life? Does acceptance bring a sense of peace or disappointing surrender? There are moments that stick with you over time. Becoming their own event with details that get hazy but emotions that grow stronger. These moments turn over in your soul and have their own narrative until they demand acceptance. This series is an exploration of three pivotal moments in my life and the journey through their perspective in the months or years that followed. Acceptance is a journey within myself, embracing things that cannot be changed and looking for the beauty that grows out of defining events in our lives.

Painted over the course of several years, these paintings were an exploration into the experience of processing acceptance. They are made up of many layers and the initial painting that covered the canvas is not the same as the final layers when they declared themselves finished. Acceptance is rich, layered and full of an emotional spectrum.

View fullsize It's that rainy summer day, do a lot of painting, put on a podcast, light a candle, catch up on laundry, ignore all the dust and dirty bathrooms, wear cozy sweats, and listen to the drips outside with the windows open kind of day.
