THE STUDIO
Tucked just inside the entryway to our family home is a unique little room that has always housed creativity. For a time these walls held toys, crayons, glitter, and all the imagination toddlers and preschoolers could muster. As the kids grew, it became a quiet office space, still filled to the brim with art projects and science experiments. Most recently this little nook was a homeschooling room for learning, exploring and curiosity.
But whether my art was tucked away on an easel in the corner, or demanding it’s presence in the middle of the the floor, this little room has always been a sanctuary for painting. With growing kids, off to explore other spaces, this room has finally become my studio with ledges of paintings, carts of brushes and oil paint and easels everywhere. Don’t worry, there are still school backpacks hanging in the corner and shelves of kid’s art supplies tucked behind glass doors so I never forget the delicate balance of whimsy and real life.
