Inside Passage I | Original Oil Painting on Cradled Panel

$235.00
sold out

6 x 12

For as long as I can remember, I’ve felt the pull of saltwater and a calmness in all things blue. Recently I discovered another theme emerging when I painted the same scene 3 times, without realizing it. My ode to the Inside Passage. This little work was the first in that series.

Oil paintings are created with an underpainting and finished with an Alla Prima technique. Oil paintings are created with artist grade paints, canvas, solvents and oils. All edges are also hand-painted with a continuation of the artistic subject, rather than masked edges, resulting in a beautiful raised look that will look professional both framed or unframed. Dry times for oil paintings last 1 year or more and have been completed.

This item is only available for studio pick-up. Click here for details

Growing up in the Pacific Northwest, one might say I’ve become fixated on the landscape surrounding me. Rainy beaches, soft waves that are protected by distant shorelines, sun-laden coves of trees and an endless sky of clouds - it’s all a boundless muse. This current collection of works were painted over the course of several months, during a storm season that defines a new normal, affected by climate change. I used brushstrokes, lines, shapes and color embody emotion within the vastness of these landscapes. I am calling this series “Devotion”.

View fullsize It's that rainy summer day, do a lot of painting, put on a podcast, light a candle, catch up on laundry, ignore all the dust and dirty bathrooms, wear cozy sweats, and listen to the drips outside with the windows open kind of day.
